BCOA Versatility Awards

Annual Versatility Award (AVA)

CONFORMATION

AKC Championship:    15 points
Group 1:   4 points
Group 2:   3 points    
Group 3:  2 points
Group 4:  1 point
Specialty Best of Breed:  1 point
Specialty Best of Opposite Sex:   .75 point
Specialty Award of Merit:  .5 point
All-Breed Best in Show/National Specialty BOB:  5 points
National Specialty BOS: 4.75 points

Credit for each point earned should title not be completed.
The maximum number a non-champion may receive will be 14 points.

OBEDIENCE & TRACKING

Obedience: 
CD: 30 points   CDX: 30 points   UD: 30 points   UDX: 40 points
OTCH: 40 points
High In Trial: 5 points

Each qualifying leg towards the CD, CDX, and UD obedience titles will be 10 points (3X10=30). The maximum number a non-champion may receive will be 29 points. Each qualifying leg towards the UDX will be 4 poitns (10X4=40) and the OTCH will be .4 points (.4X100=40) OTCH. The maximum number a non-champion may receive will be 39 points.

Rally Obedience:
RN: 15 points  RA: 15 points  RE: 15 points RAE: 15 points

Each qualifying leg towards the above rally titles will be 5 points (3x5=15). Each qualifying leg towards the RAE will be 1.5 points (1.5X10=15). The maximum number a non-champion may receive will be 14 points.

Tracking: TD: 15 points*    TDX: 15 points*   VST: 15 points*

*Please note: There are no qualifying legs or points for these titles. The dog either passes the two hour test or it doesn't.

COURSING

Lure Coursing (AKC or ASFA):
FC or F.Ch.: 15 points 
LCX or LCM: 15 points
ASFA VCh: 75 points
ASFA VLCM: 200 points
Best in Field: 5 points

For the FC credit for each point earned should the title not be completed. Each point earned toward a LCX would be worth .3333. LCX titles take an additional 45 points to obtain (45 x .3333 = 15). Each point earned toward a F.Ch. would be worth 0.15 (100x0.15= 15).  Each point earned toward a LCM(s) would be worth 0.05. LCM titles take an additional 300 points to obtain (300 x 0.05=15). Each point earned toward a VCH would be worth 0.2 (75 x 0.2 =15). Each point earned toward a VLCM would be worth 0.075 points (0.075 x 200=15). The maximum number a non-champion may receive will be 14 points. Non-competitive titles such as JC, SC or MC would not be eligible for points.

Open Field Coursing
NOFCA or NACA
CC: 15 points
CM: 15 points

TCC
CBC: 30 points
CMC: 30 points

Each point earned toward a CC, CM, CBC and CBC would be worth 0.3 (100x0.3= 30). The maximum number a non-champion may receive will be 29 points.

AGILITY

AKC: 
NA: 15 points   OA: 15 points   AX: 15 points  
NAJ: 15 points   OAJ: 15 points   AXJ: 15 points

USDAA:         
AD: 15 points   AAD: 15 points   MAD: 15 points

Each qualifying leg towards an agility title would 5 points (3x5=15). The maximum number a non-champion my receive will be 14 points. Non-competitive titles such as MX would not be eligible for points.

RACING

Oval Track: ORC: 15 points     SORC: 15 points

Straight Track: GRC: 15 points             SGRC: 15 points

Each point earned towards an ORC or GRC will be worth 1.25 points (12x1.25=15).
Each point earned for a SORC or SGRC will be worth 0.5 (30x0.5=15). The maximum number a non-champion may receive will be 14 points.

The following are acceptable as documentation for the titles/points required for the BCOA Annual Versatility Award.

1) For any AKC titles, show awards, obedience or agility legs, tracking test or lure coursing points, photocopy of any of the following:

AKC title certificate
"New Title" listing in AKC Awards
Show results in AKC Awards
Qualifying legs in the AKC Awards
Lure coursing points in the AKC Awards
Dog's official show, trial, obedience, agility, tracking record provided by the AKC

2) For any ASFA titles or points, photocopy of any of the following:

ASFA title certificate
Trial report from Field Advisory News
Dog's trial record provided by ASFA

3) For any NOFCA, NACA or TCC titles or points, photocopy of any of the following:

Title certificate
Trial report for NOFCA News or Hares 'n Hounds or TCC official publication
Dog's trial record provided by NOFCA, NACA or TCC

4) For any USDAA agility titles or points, photocopy of any of the following:

Title certificate
Trail report from USDAA Report
Dog's trial record provided by USDAA

5) For any Racing titles or points, photocopy of any of the following:

Title certificate
Trial report from NOTRA or LGRA official publication
Dog's trial record provided by NOTRA or LGRA

DEADLINE

To apply for the BCOA Annual Versatility Award, the applicant must fill out application form and submit with all the proper documentation at one time to the Versatility Award Record Keeper by January 15 of the year following the award year which is the preceding calendar year. Incomplete applications (lacking information, inaccurate or insufficient documentation) will be returned. The presentation of the Award may be delayed pending verification of the documentation.
